“You have the wolf blood in you.”

In a word, wild. Arya has never been one to shy away from really anything. She spent most of her childhood avoiding as best she could any ladylike responsibilities in favor of playfighting with her brothers, exploring, making friends with about anybody she could, and getting into trouble. "Arya was a trial, it must be said. Half a boy, half a wolf pup. Forbid her anything and it became her heart's desire. She had Ned's long face, and brown hair that always looked as though a bird had been nesting in it. I despaired of ever making a lady of her. She collected scabs as other girls collected dolls, and would say anything that came into her head." This does not change, even with everything she goes through, and she's a very committed and loyal friend - but also a sarcastic and at times mean friend. She doesn't usually mean it, but she has a temper and a tendency to speak without thinking. She is not always the best at seeing things from other people's perspectives, either. She considers any true friend she makes as good as family, pretty much right off the bat, because for all that she makes friends easily, she does not trust that easily. Once she has, though, it's fairly permanent. She's stubborn about a lot of things, but nothing more than that. Her family is of vital importance to her, although she does regularly feel out of place and like an outsider among them.
She's pretty self assured, and can be downright arrogant about certain things, but the insecurities she has (mainly related to her appearance and whether she's 'good enough' for her family) run very deep. She has slightly more than her fair share of abandonment issues as well, and a tendency to avoid or run from things that scare her emotionally, even though she's very good at handling fear of physical injury or threats.
history
“No one,” she would answer, she who had been Arya of House Stark, Arya Underfoot, Arya Horseface. She had been Arry and Weasel too, and Squab and Salty, Nan the cupbearer, a grey mouse, a sheep, the ghost of Harrenhal…but not for true, not in her heart of hearts. In there she was Arya of Winterfell”

Arya is the 2nd daughter of Ned and Catelyn Stark. She has 3 older siblings, Robb, Jon (her half-brother and her favorite of her siblings), and Sansa, and two younger brothers, Bran and Rickon. The first nine years of her life are a childhood most anyone would be jealous of - her family is significantly wealthy, from a mix of political ties/careers and business, and for those years they all stay close and things are relatively calm. Her largest complaints would be having to be ladylike and fighting with her sister and essentially her governess. Her father was involved in politics before she was born, but it was a lifestyle that did not agree with him, and he left it as soon as he could for as long as he could - not as long as he would've liked. He does go back into it, when pressed, and this does cause some strain to the family and a significant change to her life.
Here there are different paths I take her down, which I'll get more into under preferences. However, in any case, at the end of it, she has made it back to whatever remains of her family.
preferences
“Make me a water dancer and a wolf and not afraid again, ever.”

I write Arya, in this AU, at varying levels of darkness/deadliness, based mainly off of who she is interacting with, so if you have a preference, let me know. It's tricky to convert her entire storyline into a modern AU, so this section and her history are subject to change. Her default is that Bran's accident and her father's death still did occur, but she was not separated from her remaining family for such a prolonged time. The alternatives are that she did have to fight to get back to her family, but managed it in less time, with less loss, although obviously being on the run for so long takes a toll. In the darkest modern timeline, the faceless men essentially amount to a cult, and any emphasis will be less on killing and more on the near loss of self. I am also willing to write her at about any point in any of these timelines except when she is with the faceless men. Unless you can make a really good case for it, I prefer writing her after the majority of the trauma, when she is at least starting down the path of healing/having a life, hence why usually I'm writing her where most of it didn't happen.
